The device has a cable-operated linkage (37) actuated from a driver place for tilting a foldable upper backrest that integrates a removable headrest of a rear seat, towards the front. A connection hinge connects the backrest to a foldable lower backrest of the seat. The cable has a hand-lever (38) that is accessed by a driver and is situated at the level of a parking brake. The upper backrest is maintained in position by a latch mechanism that is integrated to the lower backrest.
