The method involves superimposing multiple leather bands (1) which extend along a longitudinal direction, and associating the leather bands with each other in order to form a compact block (3) of superimposed leather bands. The block is suited to be worked without dissociation of the leather bands, and is cut out along a transversal direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and/or along the longitudinal direction in order to form leather covering parts with selected thickness.
