The structure has a front face comprising a facing, and a rolled filling occupying an interval between the facing and a pre-existing wall. A maintaining unit (6) e.g. rolled steel armature, is extended in the filling to maintain the facing with respect to the wall, and has a portion (61) for connecting the facing to the wall. The maintaining unit has a free end portion (66) extending in the filling, where forces are transmitted between the free end portion and material of the filling for contributing to tension of the portion (61). An independent claim is also included for a method of erecting a structure in front of a pre-existing wall.
