The device has a floating sphere constituted of a spherical inflatable bladder (1) or a floating material sheet with two opposed paddles (4, 5) that are placed on a diametral axis. The sphere and the paddles form a rigid assembly. The bladder is made of resistant plasticized material, and covers a canvas cover which is provided with two buttonholes for fixing the paddles. The paddles respectively have two pucks (8, 9), fixation bases (6, 7) fixed to the sphere, and sleeves (2, 3) on which hands of a swimmer are positioned.
