The mask (1) has a parallelopipedic case (9) whose wall is provided with a translucent corrective lens (3) at a side facing eyes of a worker. The wall has a tinted glass window (6) at another side facing a heat source (10). Mirrors (4, 7, 12) reflect infrared rays issued from a light source placed in front of the mask. The mirror (4) constitutes a light return surrounding a rigid lead sheet (2) and absorbing the infrared rays. The mirror (12) transmits a light beam to an eye of a worker through the corrective lens.
