The method involves positioning a strawberry plant (3) in a cultivation container (1) during planting operation in a manner that a longitudinal axis (3a) of the plant passes through a root part (3b) and an aerial shoot part (3c) and is oriented horizontally so that the part (3c) comes outside a vertical encumbrance of the container. The axis comes totally or almost totally outside the vertical encumbrance of the container. An independent claim is also included for a container for soilless cultivation of a strawberry plant.
