The method involves defining a time interval of consumption of a domestic resource e.g. water line (10), corresponding to a given probability for a person carrying out a consumption action of the resource. An alert is triggered based on the interval if the action of the resource is not detected during the interval. The interval is defined by establishing a day-to-day consumption section of the resource consecutive to the action by using a processing server (40), and selecting the interval in the section relative to the probability. An independent claim is also included for a system for telemonitoring a person in a dwelling premise.
