The assembly has corner pillars (30), and a rectangular base wall (10) forming a surface of an envelope of an electrical cabinet (1), where the wall is made of sheet iron. Each pillar has two orthogonal external surfaces defining a stop (34) on the height between ends of the pillar, and a support surface (56) placed between the ends. A front frame (50) defines an opening. The frame has assembling surfaces juxtaposed to the support surfaces when the stop is orthogonal to the frame. The depth of the envelope is equal to sum of thickness of the wall, height and thickness of the frame. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling an electrical cabinet.
