OBTAINING TETRAPLOID BIVALVE MOLLUSCS FROM DIPLOID GENERATORS

The invention relates to a process for obtaining viable tetraploid bivalve molluscs, by fertilization of oocytes of diploid females with sperm of diploid males, followed by the induction of the retention of the first polar body of the fertilized eggs, the isolation from the larvae obtained, a larval subpopulation enriched in tetraploids, and selective rearing of this subpopulation.
