The method involves interposing a series of parallel compression fingers (30) e.g. harrow, on a descending zone, where the fingers are regularly spaced along a cone distance of a surface of a cylindrical roller (1) for passing a flow of grits into clearances separating the fingers, while preventing unexpected fall of packs of grits. The surface transports a grit layer from an upper zone until the descending zone, in which the grits escape under the effect of gravity. An independent claim is also included for a device for retarding and regulating a flow of grits.
