The method involves electing a reference entity by testing belongingness of a given position with respect to localized entities for selecting a pertinent localized entity that contains the given position and follows predefined pertinent criteria. The reference entity is associated to a specific category of a space in a semantic model. The localized entities are determined, where localized entities belong to the reference entity and are associated to the category in the semantic model. A geographical representation of the space is constructed using information about determined entities. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system for generating a graphical representation of a space with respect to a given position (2) a computer program comprising logical instructions for controlling execution of graphical representation generating method (3) a computer readable storage medium for storing a computer program.
