Displaying a video stream on a display intended for presentational content in a multipoint video conferencing network

At least two different video streams are transmitted to an endpoint in a multipoint conferencing network for displaying at least one of the video streams on a separate display intended for showing presentational content. The video streams are encoded for the endpoint and a video conference session is set up with the endpoint. The video channels in the session are labeled with different respective roles such that the endpoint displays at least one of the video streams on a separate display intended for showing presentational content. By emulating a normal H.239 presentation channel which is separate for each endpoint and which has encoding characteristics suited to live video, use may be made of the additional hardware in a H.239 capable endpoint which would otherwise lie idle when presentation content is not being transmitted into the conference.
