PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an emulsion in which liquid droplets, which has the particle size within a range from submicron size to nanometer size and is excellent in size uniformity, are dispersed.;SOLUTION: A membrane emulsification method being the method for producing the emulsion is used, which comprises a step of extruding a dispersed phase into a continuous phase through a porous membrane to form liquid droplets uniform in size. A porous body the pore diameter of which can be controlled within the range from submicron size to nanometer size is applied as the porous emulsification membrane of the membrane emulsification method to produce minute liquid droplets. When a monomer is mixed in a solution to be extruded through the porous emulsification membrane, the monomer-mixed solution is extruded to form liquid droplets and the obtained liquid droplets are polymerized and solidified, polymer fine particles uniform in size can be obtained. When nanoparticles are suspended beforehand in the monomer solution, a monodisperse composite particle in which fine metal, fine metal oxide, etc. is dispersed can be produced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
