METHOD FOR PRODUCING SEA-ISLAND STRUCTURE FIBER AND ULTRAFINE SHORT FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrafine short fiber of a polyamide having excellent dispersibility in water and a sea-island structure fiber suitable for obtaining the short fiber.;SOLUTION: The method for producing a sea-island structure fiber includes melt-spinning a raw material chip obtained by dispersing a polyamide being an island component into a polyester being a sea component in an average dispersion diameter D to give a sea-island structure fiber in which the average diameter d of the island component in a fiber cross section is 100-500 nm and the dispersion length L of the island component represented by formula, L=(2D³)/(3d²), is 2-15 μm.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
