PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of promoting clotting of flowing blood and body fluids by mixing them with an aqueous medium just before directly applying to a bleeding open wound or a wound from which body fluids are flowing, and promoting healing. PSOLUTION: The method includes a step A for mixing a substantially anhydrous iron (VI) oxyacid salt, capable of generating multivalent metal ions through hydration in the presence of blood or an aqueous medium, with blood flowing out of a wound; and a step B for keeping the mixture obtained in the step A attaching to the wound for a sufficient period of time to stop further bleeding from the wound through sufficient clotting of the blood.
