PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analytical construction method of a third-order calculation scheme for ensuring stability, relating to a finite difference numerical calculation method in a transport equation.;SOLUTION: One free parameter ε is introduced when an advective term in a transport equation is subjected to third-order finite difference approximation. Then, an ε optimum value is determined by minimizing a truncation error on the basis of local information quantity such as a transport speed within the range of satisfying a positivity condition of a differential coefficient being a sufficient condition for ensuring stability while not deteriorating the stability at the same time. The optimum value of the free parameter ε introduced when constituting a calculation scheme in this way, is analytically set as functions of a transport speed, a diffusion coefficient, and local information quantity of temporal-spatial mesh width from the viewpoints of stability and accuracy.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
