PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for preparation of D-glyceric acid under an alkaline condition using glycerol as raw material.;SOLUTION: The process for preparation of D-glyceric acid comprises a process culturing acetic acid bacteria belonging to genus Gluconobacter, Gluconacetobacter, etc., with D-glyceric acid productivity, in a culture medium containing alkaline glycerol. The process is characterized by using a culture medium containing alkaline glycerol which is a waste glycerol solution, a by-product of the transesterification of triglyceride in preparation of bio-diesel oil.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
