PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making a glass article, by which an article having a large size or a complicated shape can be formed; and to provide a glass article obtained by the method.;SOLUTION: The method for making the glass article comprises: a step of preparing glass in the form of particles, beads, microspheres or fibers, wherein the glass contains CaO-Al2O3-ZrO2 or SrO-Al2O3-ZrO2 and ≥0 and 20 wt.% SiO2, ≥0 and 20 wt.% B2O3, and ≥0 and 40 wt.% P2O5, each based on the weight of the glass, and has a glass transition temperature Tg and a crystallization starting temperature Tx, wherein the difference between the Tg and the Tx is at least 25 K; a step of heating the glass at a temperature not lower than Tg so that the particles, beads, microspheres or fibers are fused and a fused formed body is formed; and a step of forming the article by cooling the fused formed body.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
