PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for splicing another rope to at least three-plied rope.;SOLUTION: The apparatus for splicing the rope to be spliced to at least three-plied rope includes an intermediate part having a recessed rope guide face formed therein, a spike having a flat tapered tip part twisted relative to a recessed rope-guide face, regulated so as to match the twisted tilt angle to the crossing direction of the three-plied rope having at least three strands, a vertical guide member holding the spike so as to be freely rotatable around the axis, a rope-carrying stand for carrying the three-plied rope so as to be rotatable in the front and rear direction, and driving means facilitating the penetration action of the spike to the three-plied rope by lifting and lowering the rope-carrying stand. The apparatus enables the spike to penetrate at least the three-plied rope without loosening the rope to splice the rope to be spliced to the three-plied rope by the shape of the spike and association between a rotary action of the three-plied rope in the front and rear direction and the rotary action of the spike.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
