PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for teaching materials, enabling observation of an expansion condition of plant roots, and to provide the teaching materials.;SOLUTION: This plant growth observing system for the teaching materials includes: a step of putting water-based gel made from water-absorbing resin powder and water into a raising seedling pot; a step of putting plant seeds, bulbs or seedlings into the water-based gel; and a step of observing an expansion condition of plant roots in the gel, going with sprouting and growth of plants in the water-based gel. Furthermore, the system includes: a step of transplanting the sprouted and growing plants to a plant cultivation container in which cultivation soil is put; and a step of observing a growth condition of stems and leaves going with further growth of the plants. The water-absorbing resin is such that when letting 1 pt.wt. of the water-absorbing resin absorb 100 pts.wt. of 25°C ion exchange water, the absorbing body has an electric conductivity of 0-2.0 mS/cm, and a water-absorbing power of 25°C ion exchange water is 80-1,000 times.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
