PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Mg alloy powder for a coated electrode for arc welding which has the good low-temperature toughness of a weld metal, and is excellent in the anti-dropout property of a coating agent while satisfying welding operatability, and a low-hydrogen type coated electrode for arc welding using the same.;SOLUTION: The Mg alloy powder is added to the coating agent when manufacturing the coated electrode for arc welding and includes 13-36 mass% Mg, 33-56 mass% Si and 15-45 mass% Fe, and has an average particle diameter of 50-200 μm. The low-hydrogen type coated electrode for arc welding includes 3-17 mass% of Mg alloy powder based on the whole mass of the coating agent.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
