PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for inspecting double-tooth-surface engaging gear, capable of quickly and accurately determining a one-pitch engagement error, a deflection of tooth groove, indentations, etc. of an inspection object gear without being influenced by accuracy of a master gear or positions of the indentations of the inspection object gear. PSOLUTION: The apparatus presses the master gear (16) and the inspection object gear (17) with different numbers of gear teeth against each other by force in an approaching direction to engage with each other, rotates the master gear (16) or the inspection object gear (17) by a pulse motor (4), disposes a detector (13) for detecting interaxial variations of the master gear (16) and the inspection object gear (17), keeps the number of samplings constant, which are input from the detector (13) at the prescribed number of integral rotations of the inspection object gear (17), and obtains the one-pitch engagement error of the inspection object gear (17) and the deflection of tooth groove based on a train of drive pulses generated at the pulse motor (4) and a cycle of the samplings input from the detector (13).
