PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for separating cesium from high-level radioactive liquid waste.;SOLUTION: A used method for separating cesium from a high-level radioactive liquid waste comprises a preparation step for preparing a calix solution by dissolving dioctyloxo-calix[4]-crown-6 or a derivative of or calix[4]-crown-6 in a solution containing a 6-9C monovalent alcohol and n-dodecane to a concentration of 0.005 mol/dm3 to 0.03 mol/dm3, an extraction step for extracting cesium in the calix solution prepared in the preparation step by adding a high-level radioactive liquid waste containing nuclear fission products including cesium in the calix solution, and a back extraction step for back extracting cesium extracted in the extraction step using a solution with nitric acid dissolved therein at a concentration not higher than 0.01 mol/dm3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
