PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress erroneous detection caused by vibration of a water surface, and detection failure caused by adhesion of dirt. PSOLUTION: A water level detection device 6 for detecting the level of water accumulated in a container 84 includes: a floodlighting part 61; an optical fiber 64 having one end to which the floodlighting part 61 is connected, and having the other end to which light floodlighted by the floodlighting part 61 is guided; a light receiving part 62 connected to the other end of the optical fiber 64, for receiving light guided by the optical fiber 64; and a determination means 63 for determining the water level in the container 84 based on the quantity of light received by the light receiving part 62. Especially, a part having a prescribed length in the longitudinal direction of the optical fiber 64 between one end and the other end is provided as a water level detection part 6a capable of detecting the water level.
