PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a metal-ceramic matrix hybrid composite structure showing high durability and enhanced ductility against localized impact load.;SOLUTION: A laminated ceramic matrix composite structure is reinforced by at least one layer comprising a metal reinforcing material. The metal reinforcing material is selected so as to realize the optimum strength and the thermal compatibility with a ceramic matrix composite material. The metal reinforcing material contains an outer oxidized layer bonded to the ceramic matrix composite material and may also contain a protective layer useful for preventing further oxidation on the surface of a metal.
