PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material to be friction-stir-welded in which a detecting section for detecting a joining route can be formed in a simple manner.;SOLUTION: End faces to be joined of platy portions of the material are butted to each other and joined by friction stir welding, using a stirring pin rotating and moving along the end faces to be joined. The material to be friction-stir-welded 3b is formed by extrusion and has a chamfered part in the surface corners of the end faces to be joined.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
