PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a band-pass filter which is variable in pass band, and to provide a method for manufacturing a photonic crystal by using the band-pass filter.;SOLUTION: A Fabry-Perot resonator 20 is structured by alternately layering epoxy resin layers as low permittivity dielectric layers and alumina plates as high permittivity dielectric layers to constitute two reflectors and disposing a resonance layer comprising a ferrite plate 23 between the above reflectors; and the resonator is inserted into a rectangular waveguide 50 having a specified direction of an electric field amplitude direction of electromagnetic waves. The frequency in a pass band is controlled by applying a DC magnetic field from the outside of the rectangular waveguide 50 by an electromagnet 60 to the ferrite plate 23 as well as controlling the intensity of the magnetic field.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
