PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for detecting signal with low complexity used for a MIMO system. PSOLUTION: Disclosed is the signal detecting device used for a radio communication system which detects a received signal according to a result of channel estimation and outputs a soft bit metric of the received signal, the detecting device including a linear detection section 200 which detects the received signal according to the result of channel estimation and acquires an initial estimation signal, a constellation selection system which generates a constellation candidate subset for each transmission symbol from an initial constellation set, and a soft bit metric calculation section 202 which calculates a soft bit metric for each transmission symbol according to constellation candidates of a constellation candidate subset.
