PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zirconia particle the refractive index and mechanical characteristics of which are improved, which is restrained from being colored when a complex is produced from the zirconia particle and a resin and which can keep remarkably high transparency and to provide a method for producing the zirconia particle, a zirconia transparent dispersion liquid, a transparent complex made with the zirconia transparent dispersion liquid and a method for producing the transparent complex.;SOLUTION: The zirconia particle has 1-20 nm average particle size, ≤6,000 ppm halogen element content on the basis of mass of zirconia, ≤200 ppm alkali metal content on the basis of mass of zirconia, ≤200 ppm nitrogen content on the basis of mass of zirconia and ≤400 ppm total content of the alkali metal and the nitrogen on the basis of mass of zirconia.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
