PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for regenerating a phosphorus adsorbent, in which a solution of the regenerated phosphorus adsorbent is reused while keeping high the regeneration efficiency of the phosphorus adsorbent when waste water is treated by removing a phosphorus component in waste water by the phosphorus adsorbent.;SOLUTION: The method for regenerating the phosphorus adsorbent comprises the steps of: adsorbing the phosphorus component on the phosphorus adsorbent to remove the phosphorus component in phosphorus-containing waste water; and making an aqueous solution of at least one salt selected from alkali metal salts pass through a layer of the phosphorus adsorbent to desorb the adsorbed phosphorus component and regenerate the phosphorus adsorbent. After fine particles containing the insolubilized phosphorus component and fine particles of the hydroxide of the selected metal salt are removed from the aqueous solution, the resulting aqueous solution is used for the regenerating treatment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
