PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ring opening polymerization catalyst system which gives norbornene-based ring opening polymer and its hydride having excellent filtrating performance at relatively low cost by an improved ring opening polymerization method of a norbornene-based monomer.;SOLUTION: The ring opening polymerization catalyst system of norbornene-based monomers includes the combination of: (a) a tungsten compound, (b) an organic aluminum compound, (c) a secondary alcohol, and (d) a tertiary alcohol; wherein the mole ratio (c/b)of the secondary alcohol to the organic compound is 0.90-1.15, while the mole ratio (d/b) of the tertiary alcohol to the organic aluminum compound is in the range of 0.01-0.11.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
