PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To economically and easily recover iodine from iodine-containing waste liquid at a high yield. PSOLUTION: A method for recovering iodine from iodine-containing waste liquid comprises the adsorption process for adsorbing iodine by bringing the iodine-containing waste liquid into contact with an anion exchange resin, the elution process for eluting the iodine by bringing an eluant into contact with the anion exchange resin, the recovery process for recovering the recovered liquid containing the eluted iodine. The adsorption process is carried out by bringing the waste liquid into contact with the anion exchange resin after bringing it into contact with a strongly acidic cation resin. An iodine recovery apparatus has a means for bringing the iodine-containing waste liquid into contact with the anion exchange resin after bringing it into contact with the strongly acidic cation resin.
