PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a setup technique capable of automating a setup work by a machine at the time of replacing a grinding wheel in a centerless grinder.;SOLUTION: The setup device for a centerless grinder includes a dressing device 3, a grinding wheel position measurement section 4 for measuring the position of an outside diameter of the grinding wheel 1, a reference block 5 for defining a measurement reference position S of the grinding wheel position measurement section 4, a diamond load detection section 7 for measuring a contact position of the grinding wheel 1 with a rotary diamond 30 of the dressing device 3, a dimension calculation section 8 for calculating the outside diameter ϕD of the grinding wheel 1 based on a grinding wheel diameter reference value previously set from a measurement result of the grinding wheel measurement section 4 which is based on the measurement reference position S, and a setup control section 9 for controlling the dressing device 3.
