PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a capsule endoscope that rapidly detects its extracorporeal discharge and outputs no radiowave after extracorporeal discharge.;SOLUTION: The capsule endoscope 1 includes an imaging device 112 for imaging the interior of a living body, and a radio transmitter 114 that performs the transmission of the image captured by the imaging device 112 to the outside of the living body, and further includes an extracorporeal discharge detector 117 for detecting the discharge of the capsule endoscope 1 to the outside by acceleration and a transmitting operation controller 120 for controlling the operation of the radio transmitter 114 upon the reception of the signal outputted from the extracorporeal discharge detector 117.
