PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy valve spring retainer having excellent wear resistance, high strength and toughness, and applicable to a high speed rotation internal combustion engine which is often used in a high speed rotation zone, especially an engine for a motorcycle.;SOLUTION: The wear resistance of a slide part is improved by forming a hardened layer containing an oxide containing zirconium on the surface of a valve spring retainer using a precipitation hardening-type aluminum alloy as a matrix. Consequently, a high-strength, tough and light-weight valve spring retainer which can withstand an impact with the valve spring and can cope with an increase of an output and the improvement of fuel economy is provided.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
