PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sediment-discharging settling tank which is a settling tank from which supernatant water overflows, wherein deposits settled on the bottom of the tank is forcedly concentrated, and only the concentrated sediment is forcedly discharged therefrom intermittently.;SOLUTION: An open-ended cylinder as a feed path is disposed in a tank body, and the positions of the upper and lower open ends of the cylinder are suitably determined. An opening and closing cock extending along the height between the upper surface of a sediment exit provided at the center of the bottom of the tank and the upper edge of the inside of the tank body and having a fixed propeller at the lower part is inserted vertically into the central part of the tank body, and the opening and closing of the sediment exit is closed with the lower end of the opening and closing cock by making free the vertical motion of the opening and closing cock. A guide shaft that freely guides the vertical slide and axial rotation of the opening and closing cock is pivotally supported on the upper part of the opening and closing cock.
