PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronous database updating method which synchronously updates all distributed databases, even if the databases are hierarchical databases. PSOLUTION: The synchronous database updating method is provided with; a process for transmitting updating processing information to a sub site 3 from a main site 2; a process for determining information inconsistency between the main site and the sub site, and, when no inconsistency exists, determining whether updating processing to the server database 12 of the sub site 3 can be executed; a process for registering updating of the sub site 3, and transmitting the registered updating information to the main site 2; a process for registering updating of the client database 6 of the main site 2; and a process for deciding the registered updating of the client database 6 of the main site 2 and server database 12 of the sub site 3 on the basis of the received updating information and updating processing information.
