PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold release agent for die casting which can suppress the generation of the roughening of a cast skin in a die-cast product, and to provide a mold releasing method and a casting method.;SOLUTION: Disclosed is a method for imparting mold releasability to a mold for die casting characterized in that the molding face of a mold 2 for die casting is coated with a mold release agent 8 for die casting composed of a colloidal aqueous solution obtained by dispersing the nanoparticles of silicon dioxide into water without adding a dispersant, and next, the water is evaporated.
