PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature-monitoring device and a temperature-monitoring method, capable of acquiring CPU temperature data of an image formation device without changing software or stopping the operation of the image formation device. PSOLUTION: A temperature-monitoring part 5 is constituted of an SMBus I/F 6, a serial I/F 7, an RS232C I/F 8, an I/O port 9 and a CPU 16. Since this temperature-monitoring device 17 is provided with the dedicated CPU 16, the junction temperature of a CPU 2 can be measured, without having to stop the operation (MFP operation) of the image formation device 1 provided with the CPU 2 having a thermal diode 3.
