PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starlit sky-displaying method which automatically computes a degree of light pollution at a place, at which an observation point is set, only by setting the observation point and realistically reproduces an observational state of the starlit sky in accordance with the degree, and also to provide a planetarium device using the method concerned.;SOLUTION: When position information on an optional place is designated, brightness is read out, through optional place-corresponding coordinates, from a brightness map formed by brightness data which indicate brightness given by artificial illumination of a plurality of places. The brightness thus read out is made to be the brightness of the night sky of the observation point, or the brightness of the night sky of the observation point is computed by making interpolation computation by using the brightness thus read out.
