PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a new business model enabling coexistence and co-prosperity in the three parties of a copyright holder, a consumer, and a maker by introducing a new copyright management system to a video signal having image quality limitation capable of being satisfied only by a compact display of PMP.;SOLUTION: "A new copyright management rule in which a copy is permitted to a video signal of which image quality is deteriorated sufficiently as compared with recording although the copy is inhibited to the video signal output with the image quality equal to that of recording" is added to conventional copyright management rules, namely copy-inhibition, copy-once, and copy-free. The image quality enabling the copyright holder to permit copying is substantially not more than the half of the number of pixels in a current DVD, and the number of display pixels of the PMP is substantially 352 (horizontal) and 240-480 (vertical), thus simultaneously meeting the needs of the consumers wishing to enjoy the PMP, while protecting the right of the copyright holder using an image quality limitation system for thinning out the entire number of pixels, namely the product of the number of horizontal pixels and that of vertical ones, to not more than the half of recording.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
