PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coal type discriminating device for a coal burning boiler can accurately and quickly discriminate a coal type by taking into consideration the fluctuation typical to plants and perform operation of the coal burning boiler corresponding to the coal type.;SOLUTION: The coal type discriminating device of the coal burning boiler for discriminating the coal type based on a measurement signal of the coal burning boiler to be controlled includes: an exterior input interface for taking in a measurement signal from a controlling object, a measurement signal database for retaining the measurement signal taken in from the controlling object, a model for estimating a measurement signal value obtained when an operating signal is provided to the coal burning boiler to be controlled for each coal type, a learning part for learning a generation method of a model input so that a model output estimated by the model achieves a model output target value, an estimating part for calculating a difference between the measurement signal retained in the measurement signal database with the measurement signal estimated by the model as an estimation signal, and a determination part for determining a coal type or a mixed coal rate based on the estimation signal calculated by the estimating part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
