PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aminomethylpyridine in good selectivity and high yield by industrially simple operation.;SOLUTION: In the method for producing the aminomethylpyridine by carrying out catalytic reduction reaction of cyanopyridine with hydrogen by using a hydrogenation catalyst, the reaction is carried out in the presence of aminoalcohols represented by general formula (1) (R1 and R2 are each a hydrogen atom or a 1-4C straight-chain or branched alkyl group which may have a hydrogen group and both groups are not each simultaneously a hydrogen atom; R3 is a 1-4C straight chain or branched alkyl group having a hydroxy group).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
