PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder for a glass fiber capable of constituting a glass fiber-reinforced resin material which is durable even under a severe environment of wet heat such as dipping treatment in hot water by strengthening interfacial bonding with a glass fiber strand and a matrix resin and to provide a glass fiber subjected to surface treatment with the binder and also to provide the glass fiber-reinforced resin material using the glass fiber. PSOLUTION: The binder for the glass fiber contains an acetylene glycol based surface active agent, a film forming agent and a silane coupling agent. The surface of the glass fiber is coated with the binder for the glass fiber in a deposit rate within a range of 0.1 mass% to 5.0 mass%.
