PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for increasing productivity and improving a combed sliver.;SOLUTION: This apparatus for fiber-sorting or fiber-selection of a fiber bundle comprising textile fibers, which is supplied by supply means, has clamping devices for clamping the fiber bundle, and a mechanical means is present which generates combing action to loosen and remove non-clamped constituents from the free end of the fiber bundle. To enable productivity to be increased in a simple manner and an improved combed sliver to be obtained, downstream of the supply means there are arranged at least two continuously quickly rotatable mounted rollers, which are provided with clamping devices for fiber sliver that are distributed spaced apart in the at least in the region of the roller periphery. The means for producing the combing action are associated with a roller.
