WEFT KNITTING MACHINE, KNITTING METHOD, AND PLAIN KNIT FABRIC FOR FLOW CHANNEL MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weft knitting machine and a knitting method, which have preferable balanced lateral width dimension of a needle loop and a sinker loop, and is suitable especially for the production of a plain knit fabric for a flow channel material.;SOLUTION: The weft knitting machine includes a weft knitting mechanism with a needle and a sinker attached to a cylinder and has a ratio of the hook width (Tn) of the needle to the width (Ts) of the sinker (Tn/Ts) is 0.8-1.2. The knitting method for the production of a weft knit fabric by the weft knitting machine satisfies the relationship of formula (a): 0.042≤(√D)/L≤0.057 wherein L (mm) is the loop length and D (dtex) is the fineness of the knitting yarn. The plain knit fabric for a flow channel material which is knitted by using the weft knitting machine satisfies the relationship of formula (b): 0.45≤Wn/(Wn+Ws)≤0.55 wherein Wn (mm) is the width of the needle loop and Ws (mm) is the width of the sinker loop.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
