PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered ceramic compact formed with a metallized layer with which the sufficient strength of adhesion of metallization can be obtained by a simple process regardless of the state of ceramics, a joined body of ceramics and metal, a paste for metallization and a method for manufacturing the sintered ceramic compact formed with the metallized layer.;SOLUTION: An alumina member (1) for joining and a metallic member (3) are joined by a brazing filler metal (5), by which the joined body (7) is formed. The alumina member (1) for joining is constituted by forming the metallized layer (11) on the surface of the alumina member (9) being a sintered alumina compact and is formed with a plating layer (13) on the metallized layer (11). Especially, the metallized layer (11) is constituted of a metallic phase containing Mo or W and a metal oxide phase composed of an oxide of Si and one or more kinds of the metal oxides selected from Mg, Al, Ti, and Mn and the ratio of the metal oxide phase occupying in the metallized layer (11) is 20 to 50vol.%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
