PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a malodor preventing material for a toilet and a method of using the malodor preventing material whose effect does not deteriorate even when using a toilet washing liquid and which prevents malodor of the toilet by suppressing action of the urea decomposing bacteria for decomposing urea in urine. PSOLUTION: This malodor preventing method is characterized by forming a lacquer film on a toilet facility or members used for the toilet facility, and the malodor preventing material for the toilet is formed of a member formed with the lacquer film by applying lacquer.
