PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal detecting apparatus capable of detecting the possibility of saturation of an output of a signal tracking/holding circuit for executing correlated double sampling, thereby ensuring linearity without widening the dynamic range of a signal tracking/holding circuit and the dynamic range of a difference amplifier and without saturating the output.;SOLUTION: The signal detecting apparatus controls the timings of a reference tracking/holding circuit 31 and a signal tracking/holding circuit 32 to detect the presence or absence of residual output due to the residual component of a charge signal i.
