PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method by which a type-I clathrate compound represented by a composition formula Ba8(Ga, Sn)46 can be stably synthesized, and to provide a thermoelectric conversion material that is made of the type-I clathrate compound with a high Seebeck coefficient synthesized by the manufacturing method, as well as a thermoelectric conversion element using the thermoelectric material.;SOLUTION: The method is used to manufacture a type-I clathrate compound as follows: a material compound (excluding type-I clathrate compound) represented by a composition formula Ba8(Gax, Sn1-x)46 (0x1) is heated in a range between 500°C and 750°C, so as to make the type-I clathrate compound represented by the composition formula.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
